Meeting der Arbeitsgruppe BioParks des BVIZ mit BIOPÔLE aus Lausanne
BioParksD meets BIOPÔLE
Am 18. Juni 2021 traf sich eine „Abordnung“ der Arbeitsgruppe „BioParks“ des Bundesverbandes der Innovations-, Technologie- und Gründerzentren (BVIZ) mit Vertretern des BioParks BIOPÔLE aus Lausanne in der Schweiz. Das Treffen diente vor allem dem gegenseitigen Kennenlernen, einem fachlichen Ausrausch und fand – Corona-bedingt – im virtuellen Raum statt. Ein weiteres Ziel des Meetings war es, ein größeres „Live-Treffen“ im kommenden Jahr vorzubereiten.
Die Arbeitsgruppe BioParks des BVIZ trifft sich in regelmäßigen Abständen zum fachlichen Austausch. Darüber hinaus gibt es in ebenso schöner Regelmäßigkeit Exkursionen zu BioParks und/oder deren Organisationen in anderen Ländern Europas. So gab es bisher Exkursionen zu den BioParks in Wien, Zürich, Leiden, Mailand und Aarhus. Nunmehr ist ein weiteres Meeting der Vertreter aus deutschen BioParks mit den Kollegen aus der Schweiz in Vorbereitung.
Am virtuellen Meeting nahmen elf Vertreter aus 10 BioParks teil. Eingeladen zu diesem Meeting hatte die deutsche Arbeitsgruppe. Und so begrüßte die Sprecherin der AG BioParks des BVIZ, Dr. Christina Quensel vom Campus Berlin Buch die Teilnehmer und stelle den BVIZ und dessen Arbeitsgruppe BioParks vor. Sie erläuterte die Struktur und Arbeitsweise der Gründerzentren im allgemeinen, der rund 50 BioParks und des BVIZ im speziellen.
Im Anschluss stellte Olivier Philippe von BIOPÔLE den BioPark aus Lausanne vor. Der 2004 gegründete Biopark ist eine Non-Profit-Organisation, derewn Aufgabe es ist, die Life Science Unternehmen zu unterstützen und ihre positive Entwicklung zu bewirken. Eine besondere Aufgabe liegt in der Unterstützung von Startups, denen im „StartLab“ und „Superlab“ maßgeschneiderte Infrastruktur zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Darüber hinaus bietet Biopôle mit dem Start-up Fund eine bemerkenswerte Finanzierungsmöglichkeit für Life-Sciences-Start-ups, um deren Forschung und Entwicklung voranzutreiben. Mit fortschreitendem Wachstum können die Unternehmen ihre eigenen, maßgeschneiderten Labore bei Biopôle einrichten, während sie weiterhin alle Vorteile und Möglichkeiten des Campus genießen.
Im Anschluss an die Präsentationen wurde lebhaft über die Themen Startup-Förderung, Biotechnik und Gründungsfinanzierung diskutiert. Die Vorbereitung des „richtigen“ Meetings im kommenden Jahr wird nun unmittelbar in Angriff genommen.

BioParksD meets BIOPÔLE (Lausanne, Switzerland)
On June 18, 2021, a "delegation" of the working group "BioParks" of the German Association of Innovation, Technology and Incubation Centers (BVIZ) met with representatives of the BioPark BIOPÔLE from Lausanne in Switzerland. The meeting mainly served the purpose of getting to know each other, a first technical exchange and - due to Corona - took place in virtual space. Another goal of the meeting was to prepare a larger "live meeting" in the coming year.
The BVIZ BioParks working group meets at regular intervals for professional exchange. In addition, there are excursions to BioParks and/or their organizations in other European countries with equally nice regularity. So far there have been excursions to the BioParks in Vienna, Zurich, Leiden, Milan and Aarhus. Now another meeting of representatives from German BioParks with colleagues from Switzerland is in preparation.
Eleven representatives from 10 BioParks participated in the virtual meeting. The German working group had invited to this meeting. The speaker of the BVIZ BioParks working group, Dr. Christina Quensel from Campus Berlin Buch, welcomed the participants and introduced the BVIZ and its BioParks working group. She explained the structure and working methods of the business incubators in general, the approximately 50 BioParks and the BVIZ in particular.
Olivier Philippe from BIOPÔLE then presented the Life Science Park from Lausanne. Founded in 2004, this Biopark is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support life science companies and bring about their positive development. A special task is the support of startups, which are provided with tailor-made infrastructure in the "StartLab" and "Superlab". In addition, Biopôle's Startup Fund provides a remarkable financing opportunity for life sciences startups to advance their research and development. As the companies grow, they can set up their own customized laboratories at Biopôle while continuing to enjoy all the benefits and opportunities of the campus.
Following the presentations, there was lively discussion on the topics of startup funding, biotechnology, and startup financing. Preparations for next year's "real" meeting are now underway immediately.
